Process Engineer – ADVENT Engineering ADVENT Engineering Services is an engineering consulting firm serving the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Headquartered in San Ramon, CA with operations in the USA, including CA, MA, NC, NY/NJ, PA, as well as Toronto, and Singapore, our company is involved in various facets of global pharmaceutical and biotechnology development and manufacturing facility design, start-up, compliance and process engineering projects. ADVENT's services include process engineering, project engineering, automation engineering, facility/system design, start-up and commissioning, qualification/validation as well as compliance consulting for the industry’s distinguished and successful biopharmaceutical manufacturing companies. The successful candidate will work with a group of talented process engineers involved in the design, automation, commissioning and start-up of various processes and facilities. A combination of strong technical aptitude, project engineering skills and dedication to industry quality systems, make up the ideal skill set required for this position. Responsibilities include generation of engineering design specifications and drawings, review of engineering documents, field-testing of equipment/systems such (fermentors, chromatography/UFDF, CIP, high purity water and steam systems, control systems (SCADA, DCS, BAS, PLCs), vial and syringe filling equipment as well as Isolators). Responsibilities also include generation and execution of commissioning & qualification/validation protocols (FAT, SAT, IQ/OQ, PQ) and final reports summarizing testing activities and deviations across a wide variety of equipment, utilities and automation systems used in the biopharmaceutical industry. Experience and interest in engineering and validation is preferred. Project engineering responsibilities include client-management, project scheduling/budgeting, and coordination of client and ADVENT resources for effective project delivery. Requirements The position requires a minimum B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline and prior work experience of 2-5 years in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries. An advanced degree is a plus. The candidate must have direct experience in the design or commissioning/qualification in any of the following systems: Upstream/Downstream bulk process equipment, Lyophilization, Formulation/Fill vial and syringe forms, Sterilization, Clean-In-Place, Clean Utilities (WFI/PW, Pure Steam, Clean Gases). SCADA, ABB or Delta V DCS HVAC/BMS experience is a plus. The ideal candidate possesses the desire to work in a technical capacity with a passion for engineering and technology.
